ABSTRACT

Over the past few decades, people throughout the world have heard more and more about the word “terrorism,” which has always been associated with pain, tears, and death of the innocent. As a corrosive form of political violence, terrorism has been prevalent in many regions of the world and captured the world’s attention intermittently since the late nineteenth century. Recently, terrorism became more prominent with the tragedy of the September 11, 2001 attacks in the United States, and the bombings of the Madrid train station in 2004 and London public transport in 2005. Such massive terrorist attacks proved once again that terrorism poses a major threat to nations around the world.
