ABSTRACT
Due to the inherently forward-looking nature of this project, it is critical to acknowledge that certain assumptions inform the context in which the research and design work took place. While these core assumptions, concerned with the trajectories of future energy use/production, mobility, site planning, and social structures, are based in presently emerging and observable trends, they also reflect the speculations and ambitions of the research teams who have contributed to this project over the past three years. In the following section, these assumptions are laid out and, perhaps more importantly, the key questions which they raise are presented. It was through engaging with these questions that the varying iterations of the research project set and revised research agendas and design interventions.
