ABSTRACT
IE Electronics (IEE) was founded 25 years ago in Sri Lanka by Mr Tisil Cooray. Mr Cooray, an electrical engineer, realized that there was a local market for electrical appliances such as TV antennas for the emerging consumer electronics market. The company grew significantly in its first years and is now a market leader in its sector. In recent years contacts were developed with overseas companies, and the company now has a joint production agreement with overseas firms in Finland and the UK. Component that are not available in Sri Lanka are sourced from Singapore.
