ABSTRACT
We now turn to some of the other welfare issues in connection with the operation of a competitive market economy. I do not allege that many economists have claimed or would claim merit for the market in all the respects I am to mention; only that these issues have not received enough emphasis by the profession. Since some economists are likely to find my brief reflections on these issues controversial, I list them in the form of questions.
