ABSTRACT

Serena’s mother could remember as clearly as yesterday Serena’s first day at ‘the big school’. She had come home with a long list of things to tell her and couldn’t finish one exciting piece of news before she began the next. It was a big school, much bigger than Serena had expected and she told her mother how she kept getting lost. People were helpful and understood she was new to the school, but when she asked some older boys how to get to the maths class they sent her the wrong way. On purpose, she said.
