ABSTRACT
The idea of reflective practice underpins this book. Although always given to reflection, it was not until I undertook a course on teaching and assessing that I started giving serious consideration to the concept of the reflective practitioner. The course, affectionately known as ‘ENB 998’, is extremely popular with nurses because this qualification is traditionally considered ‘desirable’, if not ‘essential’, in any number of advertisements for jobs.
