ABSTRACT
The litany of social and environmental sins associated with meat production could almost make one feel that meat alone is responsible for bringing the world to a state of ecological crisis. The dangers may be real and the connections by which meat is blamed for worsening them genuine but meat is so widely indicted also because its consumption is an apt symbol for incrimination.
