ABSTRACT
Terrorists make increasing use of armour-piercing weapons to attack both armoured vehicles
(including VIP limousines) and the walls of buildings. Thus far they have had little success against
vehicles, because they have generally failed to achieve the clean hit at the right angle in the right place
on which hollow charge missiles depend for their effect. The attack on the armoured limousine of the
US Army General Kroesen in Germany in September 1981, for example, was made with an RPG 7
at short range while the car was stopped at traffic lights but it bounced off the boot and inflicted only
superficial injuries.
