ABSTRACT
The previous three chapters described the elites’ orientations to democracy, economic system and federal structure. Taken separately these reforms have resulted in tumultuous changes of the Russian state and society. Additionally, this triple reform was carried out almost simultaneously and became intertwined in such a way that the accomplishment of each of them depends on the success or failure of the others.
