ABSTRACT
I Arroganti are a Renaissance fair commedia dell’arte troupe, based at the Texas Renaissance Fair, which includes all the founder members of the Austin Commedia Society. There was no schism when the latter organisation set up, merely a disagreement with the Texas Fair management. Consequently members of I Arroganti occasionally do turn up in I Megalomani shows (the performance wing of the Austin Commedia Society) and close links are maintained both personally and professionally.35 I Arroganti remains a weekend performance company, and is financially managed by the Texas Renaissance Fair, being a sub-branch of that Fair’s performance company.
