ABSTRACT
For the student teacher of FLs faced with the teeming daily realities of school and classroom life on the one hand, and the demands and attractions of new opportunities for teaching and learning on the other, it may be helpful to begin by clarifying three distinct but complementary dimensions of the FL learning environment in school.
