ABSTRACT
It may appear tangential to begin our journey by focusing on character, especially for an audience of emerging leaders, anxious for bottom-line strategies. Yet, this is where we must begin. When addressing emerging leaders, there is a tendency to be sure that all the right skills and perspectives have been provided, assuring that each of you have the proper provisions in your leadership “toolbox.” This chapter is less about the toolbox and more about the person who is carrying it.
