As we have stated earlier, emerging leaders rarely engage in elaborate, long-term visioning. However, the clarity of your expectations and how these expectations are expressed and shared is fundamental to your success as a leader. Crystal-clear expectations are paramount in today's fast-paced environment where needs and priorities change frequently. Bruce Tulgan (2007) offers succinct insight. “Your number one responsibility is to make sure that every person you manage understands exactly what he (or she) is expected to do” (p. 90).
