ABSTRACT
It is usual to treat cycle loads and pedestrians together. The pedestrian loading dominates due to its more mobile and compact nature. The difference between cycle and pedestrian bridges lies in the geometrical requirements, mainly in terms of width and barrier heights. Hence this Chapter will refer to pedestrian loadings only, but the cases presented cover cycle bridges too.
