ABSTRACT
Although the main resource in any team/department is the teaching and support staff, this section is concerned mainly with the resources for learning and teaching.
Traditionally, the selection and ordering of learning and teaching resources was one of the main responsibilities of the heads of teams, if not their sole responsibility outside their own teaching programmes. It remains an important issue, largely because of financial constraints and the increase in the costs of many items in recent years, but it should have a less critical role compared with the leadership and management of other, more important areas.
