ABSTRACT
The Uruguay Round of trade negotiations finally reached completion in December 1993. Its Final Act as well as the Marrakech Agreement Establishing the World Trade Organisation (hereafter the Establishing Agreement) were signed at the last Ministerial Meeting of the GATT in Marrakech in April 1994, paving the way for the WTO to formally commence operations on 1 January 1995.
