ABSTRACT

I might have concluded this book with the following analysis from the Guardian of the ‘Cold War’ interests of Capitol Cities (controllers of the ABC network). It ‘explains’ the production of the right-wing mini-series Amerika:

William Spencer is also a director of United Technologies ($3.9 billions in military contracts in 1985); M. Cabell Woodward is vice-chairman of ITT ($1.5 bns in Pentagon contracts); Frank Cary doubles in on the IBM board ($1.5 bn from defence); Alan Greenspan is with Alcoa (weapons use a whole lot of aluminium products). Not forgetting Capitol Cities longtime legal council, board member until 1980, shareholder still to the tune of $7 million or so – William Casey, just retired as director of the CIA.2
