ABSTRACT
What should be the consequences of the perpetrator’s actions in the above cases?
With the above situations there is no reference to police involvement being a consequence of the perpetrator’s actions – even in those situations where an assault took place, the police were not involved. I find this disturbing, especially when considering the comparison between the apparent lack of responsibility for the behaviour experienced by the perpetrators and the impact felt by the workers. What is equally disturbing is the acceptance of violence perpetrated upon others within our presence which may go unreported.
