ABSTRACT

Managing Aggression is a workbook designed for everyone who works in social care and for anyone who has ever faced, or is likely to face, aggression at work. The book is designed to give the reader a sense of empowerment by providing a range of useful skills which can help in managing aggression. More than this, however, the book also examines the requirements of the employing agency to ensure its ‘duty to care’ for staff, and gives the reader the means to address this issue in those agencies where staff are placed in difficult or dangerous situations.
