Edward H.N. Patterson, ‘Death of Poe', and ‘Literary Fame', Oquawka Spectator

Patterson (1828—?) was editor of the Spectator,a weekly ‘Family Newspaper’ recently started by his father in Oquawka, Illinois. During 1849 Poe and he made grandiose plans to establish the ‘Stylus’ magazine; meanwhile Patterson published Poe's work in the Spectator. See further M.D. McElroy, ‘Poe's Last Partner: E.H.N.
