ABSTRACT
The author of this notice was probably Ezra Holden (1803–46), editor and proprietor of the widely circulated weekly Courier. Holden wrote a friendly advance notice of Tales of the Grotesque and Arabesque on 2 November, from which Poe quoted in his supplement of ‘Opinions’.
