His work is not big in quantitative output. But Dubliners, written in his early twenties, followed by the Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man and Ulysses, created before he was forty years old, represent a gigantic architecture of a subjective-objective cosmos. Any one of these works would have sufficed to make the reputation of a great writer.
