ABSTRACT
Capel Lofft the elder (1751-1824), a barrister, translator, and miscellaneous writer, gave three poems by Donne in volume v of Laura, or An Anthology ~f Sonnets, Iii r3. The poems are the verse letter 'To Mr S.B.' ('0 thou which t.o search out the secret parts'), the sonnet 'To E. ofD.' ('See Sir, how as the Suns hot Masculine flame'), and Holy Sonnet j (,ThOll hast made me').
