ABSTRACT
He enjoyed great reputation as a poet, being placed at the head of the Metaphysical School; and after long neglect has received some attention within the last four years; but his poetry is not of a character calculated to gain extensive popularity. He excelled in complimentary addresses, epigrams, satires, elegies, and poems of a theological character.
