ABSTRACT
Nims (b. 1913), educated at the universities of Notre Dame and Chicago, is a teacher and writer. His publications include ‘The Poems of St John of the Cross’ (1959) and ‘Sappho to Valéry: Poems in Translation’ (1971). He received the American Academy for Arts and Sciences award for creative writing in 1968.
