ABSTRACT
A large body of literature has developed which suggests that over the past decade or two there has been a striking transformation in the nature of people’s social identity, and that this is the consequence of massive changes in the organisation and culture of contemporary societies. It is argued that because of organisational and cultural changes individuals have been changed. Different kinds of people are required by the kind of society which is emerging at the end of the century.
