ABC analysis A process used in behaviour modification to analyse a behaviour which is a target for intervention (behaviour analysis). The client is observed and a careful record is kept of the antecedents (A), the defined behaviour (B) and the consequences (C). The ABC analysis provides the information needed to develop a programme and monitor its effect.
