ABSTRACT
This chapter will basically deal with the trade system in the Land of Israel in the Mishnah and Talmud period within the economic framework of that time. The Land of Israel was, of course, at this time a Roman province, and therefore the matter at hand must be studied in reference to the economic position both of the Land of Israel and of the Roman Empire.
