ABSTRACT
As a reader of this book, the chances are that you are either a head or deputy headteacher, an SMT member or someone who has responsibility in some way for health, safety, welfare, pastoral care, and so on within your school. If not, you are probably someone with a keen interest in those areas of school life. This book will help you with the safety side of your interest. It doesn’t deal specifically with health issues or safety within curriculum areas, but it does seek to address the everyday issues involved in the overall running of secondary schools which, in my experience, most worry teachers and school governors.
