ABSTRACT
You will probably have seen the Literacy Strategy in operation in your school, in the Literacy Hour lessons which each class has to follow every day. Literacy Hour lessons include a mixture of reading and writing, as well as speaking and listening. A large proportion of each lesson involves the whole class, but the children also work in groups for part of each hour. It is usually during the group work session that other adults, such as Classroom Assistants are involved in supporting children.
