ABSTRACT

One of the most persistent myths about teaching art to children is that you have to have a very special collection of personal skills to teach art. This belief is one of the most important reasons for teachers in primary school trying to excuse themselves from attempting to teach art over the years! Like many art coordinators, you may have been confronted with the plaintive cry from colleagues 'I can't teach art because I'm not an artist' or 'because I don't know anything about art'.
