ABSTRACT

Sun Yat-sen’s doctrine for the remoulding of Chinese society was known as The Three Principles of the People (1924), ie. nationalism, democracy and people’s livelihood, a doctrine which encompassed his political and economic thinking. He wished to achieve his goals through a gradual process consisting of various stages. In his major works, National Reconstruction and The Fundamentals of National Reconstruction(1924) he outlined his proposals for Chinese reconstruction in his time.
