ABSTRACT
Tina Barnes-Powell Tina is acting head of department in design management and multi-media at De Montfort University. She is currently writing what she hopes is the final draft of her PhD thesis: ‘Young women, power, pleasure and the use of alcohol.’ Her research interests include: addictions; young women, the experience of working in higher education; and feminist methodology and epistemology. With reference to hedonistic pleasure, she longs for the day when she has time to fly her ‘stunt kite’ and attend fully to her mixed borders.
