ABSTRACT
Many excellent reviews of peroxidases exist (e.g., Campa, 1991; Gaspar et al., 1982, 1992; Kolattukudy et al., 1992; Marañón and van Huystee, 1994; Penel et al., 1992). We will concentrate on the properties of peroxidases with regard to host insect defenses, and the factors that may influence their effectiveness when introduced into transgenic plants.
