ABSTRACT
At proposition 5 Wittgenstein declares that a proposition (i.e., every proposition) is a truth-function of elementary propositions. A first reaction is that this claim is premature, since Wittgenstein has hardly canvassed the full range of things normally considered propositions. Most notably, he has yet to give an account of general propositions.
