ABSTRACT
Assessment against the standards is an essential facet of the induction process since it leads to the key judgement about whether NQTs will pass and continue their career or fail. This chapter examines what people think of the standards and addresses the assessment meetings and reports. It will consider what is meant to happen, what our research found was happening and outlines some good practice.
