ABSTRACT

Changes in the patterns of work are associated with an increasing complexity in the variety of work settings and spatial layouts. Organisations working in new ways are able to instigate new patterns of space ownership and management: they share space over time in the office and thereby increase the effective density of the occupancy of the space they use. Some of the key differences between conventional and new ways of working are summarised in Figure 8 and highlighted in Figure 9.
