ABSTRACT

Currently there are two patterns of fibre reinforced cement sheeting produced in the UK. A traditional 6″ profile has been widely used on industrial, agricultural, commercial, leisure and residential buildings for most of this century. It is defined by the pitch of its corrugations being 6″ and its thickness being a nominal quarter of an inch (in imperial measurements). The width of the sheet accommodates seven and a half corrugations. A corrugation at the end of the sheet is formed with sufficiently less depth than the others to permit the side lap with the next sheet to be formed evenly. The side lap for this profile is one corrugation. This 6″ profile is manufactured in, and widely available throughout, the UK.
