ABSTRACT

Abstract Deterioration of concrete structures for breakwater, situated in the north-most part of Japan, are examined by means of physical inspections as well as chemical analysis. Totally 76 points of 16 breakwaters are examined. At the time of examination the ages of concrete ranged from 6 to 35 years. As a physical inspection, wear depth of the concrete surface was measured by special tools. In addition, nondestructive test was conducted. Cores of the concrete structures were taken, and their compressive test, test of chloride penetration and microscopic analysis, were conducted.
