ABSTRACT
The present paper introduces CSA S478, “Guideline on Durability in Buildings,” outlining the development approach, summarizing the information presented, describing the structure provided for recording critical information and decisions pertaining to design life and maintenance, and touching on the implementation of the guideline. Some comparisons are made to similar British and Japanese documents.
