ABSTRACT
A form of EPILEPSY first described by the remarkable nineteenth-century English neurologist John Hughlings-Jackson (1835–1911). It is a form of epilepsy which begins with a convulsion in a part of the body and spreads until the sufferer becomes ‘a clotted mass of spasm’. Involvement of the FRONTAL LOBE is also indicated.
