ABSTRACT
The first half of the 1990s marked a highly significant change in the structure of the Spanish labour market. The growing predominance of employment in the tertiary sector, a process that had begun previously, was accompanied by a sharp increase in the presence of women, especially those in the middle age band, and by readjustment in geographical terms. It is the aim of this chapter to analyse these changes in detail.
