ABSTRACT
William Inmon (1995) introduced the term data warehousing to describe a database system that was designed and built specifically to support the decision making process of an organisation. However, data warehousing goes well beyond the construction of a database. Data warehousing is a process, not a product. The process includes assembling and managing data from various sources for the purpose of gaining a single detailed view of part or all of an organisation.
