Jane Johnston Schoolcraft [Obahbahmwawagezhegoqua] (1800–May 22, 1841)

Jane Johnston Schoolcraft, whose name in Ojibwa means literally “the Sound Which the Stars Make Rushing Through the Sky,” was one of the first American Indian women to publish poetry and interpretations of Ojibwa myths.
