ABSTRACT

While he has not received the critical attention that some younger Native American writers have received, Carter Revard has published extensively: he has produced collections of his poems, published individual poems and fiction in literary journals, and is represented in a dozen anthologies. He has also published essays and made numerous presentations on Native American topics at professional meetings and elsewhere (all of this in addition to his scholarship as a specialist in medieval literature). Frequently, these publications and presentations have been by request, an indication of the respect with which he is regarded. Some of his literary publications are not Native American in either theme or style, but it is his Native American work that is his most successful.
