The island of Queixome is situated off the coast of Persia at a distance of https://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> 1 2 https://s3-euw1-ap-pe-df-pch-content-public-p.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/9780203312162/1262ceb4-28d6-4551-b2eb-fc363b4dd759/content/inline-math_1_B.tif" xmlns:xlink="https://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"/> a league from the mainland and 3 from the Fortress of Ormuz; it is most fertile, abundant and temperate, being extremely productive of corn, cattle, and fruits of all kinds, and possessing most excellent waters; it is 18 leagues in circuit, and inhabited by Ormuzian and Persian peasants.
