ABSTRACT
Any definition of aggression needs to exclude the delivery of noxious stimuli that are helpful, such as dental treatment, and include acts that intend to harm but do not deliver a noxious stimulus, such as when someone swings a punch but misses the target. Aggression is therefore defined here as any form of behavior directed to the goal of harming another being, who is motivated to avoid such treatment.
