ABSTRACT
Firewall technology is used to provide basic security protection against unauthorized access mainly into, but also out of, an organization. It forms part of an overall security solution. Firewalls are sold either as software only, or as blackbox solutions, usually termed appliances, consisting of both hardware and software.
