ABSTRACT
The School Transitional Environmental Program (STEP) is based on the transitional life events model. The premise of this model is that stressful life events occurring around life transitions, such as changing schools or moving into retirement, places people at higher risk for dysfunction. The significant transition, then, becomes the risk condition around which the prevention program is applied.
