Standards and regulations

In this chapter we shall be looking at the potential for using unbaked load-

bearing earth in new-build situations, whether for stand-alone buildings and

structures or extensions to existing earth-walled buildings. As indicated pre-

viously, there is a common perception amongst practitioners, certainly in

Britain, that statutory standards limit the potential for using such materials.
